A Joyous Surprise

So I know Christmas has come and gone but over the past weeks I have been pondering on Mary and what a surprise she was given by the angel. I just wanted to share what has been on my heart. I can’t begin to know what she was going through or what she was thinking. How scared she was of what was to come. Not just the worries that come with pregnancy and birth but what was Joseph going to say? How were people going to treat her? She must have felt so alone. But she chose to obey and rejoice. Luke 1:38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May it be to me as you have said.” I often wonder how I would respond. Would I plead and say, “Not me, there must be someone else.” Or would I respond with such trust as Mary did. I love her song in Luke 1:47-55

Many times I have been asked to obey God and I wasn’t sure why or what His plan was. We recently received our own joyous surprise. We are expecting our third child. I am THRILLED that God has chosen to bless us with another child! The only scary part is that for about a month after this baby is born, I will be a mother of three children under the age of three. God is good though and we truly feel joy at the coming of this little one. I am not sure what His plan is for our little family but it is sure to be an adventure. May I always pray, “I am the Lord’s servant, may it be to me as you have said.” No matter the crazy looks and comments I am bound to get for having my children so close together, I will rejoice in the life inside me and anticipate the coming of this little one with joy. How could I not? I have been blessed beyond measure. Thank you Lord for my children and this joyous surprise of our baby to come.
